The FBC Mooresville Sanctuary Choir leading worship
MUSIC MINISTRY AT FBC MOORESVILLE

Worship is more
than music.

It is the joyful response of God’s people to who He is and what He has done.

EPHESIANS 5:19

“Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”

WHY WE SING

Worship rooted in truth.

At First Baptist, music is not a performance to watch. It is worship in which the whole church participates.

Our music ministry exists to help God’s people sing the truth of Scripture, celebrate the Gospel, and respond to the Lord with gratitude, reverence, and joy. Every Sunday, we seek worship that is rooted in Scripture, rich in theology, passionate and heartfelt, generational and unified, historic and fresh.

THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU

Our Music Ministries

Whether you sing, play an instrument, ring bells, enjoy working with children, or want to carry worship beyond the walls of the church, your gifts can help point people to Jesus.

Sanctuary Choir

Our Sanctuary Choir helps lead the church in bold, joyful worship each Sunday. The choir also presents special services at Christmas, Easter, and other meaningful moments throughout the year.

You do not have to be a professional singer. If you love Jesus, enjoy singing, and want to help the church worship, there is a place for you.

02 WORSHIP BEYOND OUR WALLS

Outreach Choir

The Outreach Choir takes the encouragement and hope of Christ beyond our sanctuary. This group ministers through song in nursing homes, visits the homebound, and serves at community events.

It is an opportunity to combine a love for music with a heart for people who may feel forgotten or unable to join us on Sunday morning.

REHEARSAL Wednesdays at 10:00 AM Open to anyone who loves music and wants to serve.

03 BELLS & CHIMES

Handbell Ministry

Our handbell ministry adds beauty, movement, and musical depth to worship throughout the year. Jubilee Bells, Grace Note Bells, Joyful Chimes, and Student Bells provide opportunities for different ages and experience levels.

These groups lead during worship, participate in festivals, and serve at special events. If you have ever wanted to learn—or return to handbells—we would love to help you begin.

04 WEEKLY WORSHIP LEADERS

Adult Praise Team

Our Praise Team serves alongside the Sanctuary Choir to help lead the congregation in worship each week. These vocalists seek to lead with humility, preparation, and a genuine love for Jesus.

The goal is never to draw attention to ourselves. It is to help the whole church lift its voice and encounter the truth of God together.

WAM Kids—Worship, Art & Music—helps children discover how to use their voices, creativity, and gifts for the glory of God through singing, drama, and movement.

Children regularly help lead in worship and prepare a spring musical each year. Praise Ringers also gives third- through sixth-grade students an opportunity to learn and lead through handbells.

Praise Band & Orchestra

Our Orchestra and Praise Band support the choir and congregation with a wide range of instruments and musical styles. Together, they help create worship that is full, thoughtful, and focused on the message we are singing.

From students to adults and developing musicians to experienced players, we want to help people use their musical gifts in service to Christ and His church.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A PROFESSIONAL

You simply need a willing heart.

Some people have years of training. Others are discovering their gifts. What matters most is a love for Jesus, a desire to serve, and a willingness to grow alongside others.

INTERESTED IN SINGING?

Your voice has a place here.

You do not need a music degree or years of choir experience to take the first step.

If you love Jesus, enjoy singing, and want to help lead the church in worship, Alan would be glad to talk with you. He can answer your questions, explain rehearsals, and help you discover whether the Sanctuary Choir, Outreach Choir, Praise Team, or another part of the music ministry is the right fit.

When contacting the church, ask for Alan Sledge, Pastor of Worship.
