We are serious about the next generation.
Children are not simply the church of tomorrow. They are part of the church today.
That is why we want to be a church that is obsessed with seeing the next generation radically changed by Jesus. We partner with parents to help children know God’s Word, understand the Gospel, build meaningful relationships, and learn what it means to follow Christ in everyday life.
We believe God can use these years to establish a faith that lasts a lifetime—and through these children, reach families, schools, neighborhoods, and communities across Iredell County for His glory.

Awana gives children a fun, welcoming place to learn God’s Word, memorize Scripture, build real friendships, worship, play, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

There is a place for every child.
From the nursery through fifth grade, children are welcomed by caring leaders and taught the truth of God’s Word in an age-appropriate setting.
Sunday Bible Study
Using The Gospel Project, children learn the big story of Scripture and see how the Bible points to Jesus.
- Infants, ages 0–2: Room A-104
- Preschool, ages 3–5: Room A-105
- Kindergarten–2nd grade: Room A-100
- 3rd–5th grade: Room A-102
Nursery & Children’s Church
Nursery care is available for our youngest children. Kindergarten through fourth-grade children begin in the worship service with their families and are dismissed before the message for music, Bible teaching, games, and activities.
Faith, friendships & unforgettable memories.
Children’s ministry does not stop when the school year ends. Each summer, FBC Kids offers Vacation Bible School and special trips for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade.
Our kids have enjoyed adventures such as Stars & Strikes, Wet’n Wild Emerald Pointe, Discovery Place Charlotte, and Tweetsie Railroad. These days give children time to deepen friendships with leaders and one another while making memories in a Christ-centered community.

We want parents to feel confident while their children learn, worship, and build relationships. FBC has a security presence during all services, and children’s ministry volunteers complete the church’s screening and background-check process.
Our leaders provide clear drop-off and pick-up guidance and work together to create a secure, attentive, and welcoming environment for every child.

You do not have to be a professional teacher to make a lasting difference. You can welcome families, serve in the nursery, help with Children’s Church, support Awana, assist with games and meals, or join us for a summer experience.
We will help you find a place that fits your gifts and walk you through the required volunteer and background-check process.

Ritamarie has a background in education and grew up at FBC. She loves seeing children learn more about Jesus and experience His love. She would be glad to answer your questions and help your family get connected.
