Security Proposal
The Properties & Security Teams are proposing to proceed with issuing a contract for upgrading our security cameras & access controlled doors to Maximum Fire & Security in the amount of $43,106.51. We have asked for approval of up to $50,000 for any additions that may come up during the project. This proposal has been concurred with by the deacons. The funding was approved by the Here Now Forever Team & will be funded by part of the interest those funds have made to date which will not touch the principle. This has also been approved by the Stewardship Team. Carl Thompson & Todd Sides will be available for questions in the Welcome Center following the 10am service on August 16th & August 23rd

I live in Mt. Ulla with my wife Jane. We have two daughters and two grandchildren. I just recently retired from Food Lion after 42 years. Jane and I have been attending First Baptist for 15 years. We taught Sunday School in the past.
Ken Crowder
I joined First Baptist Church with my wife, Racheal, and our son, Pax, in 2025 after returning to Mooresville following my service in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer. Today, we are working to open several Pet Supplies Plus locations in the area, while our son, Pax, has just begun kindergarten at Pine Lake Preparatory. I did not grow up in the church. In fact, for much of my life, I considered myself an opponent of the Christian faith. But God radically changed the direction of my life, and today I consider myself a “complete fool for Christ” - someone who has fallen deeply in love with Scripture, its historical context, and the story of God’s work throughout history. My desire is to help other believers develop that same hunger for God’s Word. That passion is especially evident each Wednesday night, where I lead a Bible study exploring the life of Jesus of Nazareth, the historical world in which He lived, and the reliability of the Gospel accounts. My goal is simple: to help believers know Christ more deeply, love His Word more faithfully, and stand confidently on the truth of the Gospel. I was honored to share my testimony from the Pulpit on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Pastor Seth and I host a Friday Podcast. Our last one, entitled Why Missions Matter, is on the website.
Doreen D’angelantonio
I grew up in a family that did not attend church, and my father was a non-believer. When I was old enough to walk to church on my own, I began attending a Catholic church and followed its traditions. After moving to North Carolina, I made friends who invited me to their Baptist church. From my very first Sunday, I felt a difference and knew I had found where I belonged. I had never owned a Bible or prayed out loud, but I felt God’s presence. After attending for several years, I accepted Christ as my personal Savior and was baptized. After 20 years at that church, I felt I needed a change and a place where I could continue to grow in my faith. When I visited FBCM, I immediately felt welcomed and have been attending ever since. I feel God is calling me to serve as a deacon because of my experiences. I want everyone who walks through our doors to feel welcomed and know they have someone they can turn to for encouragement, prayer, or support. I have seen FBCM grow tremendously, and I want to help continue that growth while sharing with others the positive changes and blessings God has brought to our church.
David Martin
My name is David Martin. I have lived in Mooresville all my life, minus a 4yr stint in the Marine Corps. My wife, Amy and I have been married for 35yrs. Our daughter Megan and her husband Tyler have two children; Josie and Claire. Our son Andrew and his wife Molly have a son named Clark. We are so very blessed to worship together as a family at First Baptist Church. I retired after 30yrs of service from the Mooresville Graded School District and now operate a small landscaping business. In my free time I enjoy playing with my grandchildren, watching most all sports (especially baseball), a little fishing and golf, and of course singing. I accepted Christ as a young teen and have had the privilege of serving Him most of my life. I am so thankful that at a very young age, I felt the calling to share the Gospel message through song. In 1999, God provided me the opportunity to sing in a Southern Gospel music group for nearly 20yrs. For this and all blessings He has bestowed upon me and my family, I am so very thankful!
Bobby Thompson
I am married to Susan, have two children (Carl & Stacy), a daughter-in-law (Lynette) and two grandchildren (Leigha and CJ); and one great- grandson (Wyatt). I became a Christian at the age of 7 in 1954 after begging God to heal me from Polio, which He did. At the age of 14, I joined Central United Methodist Church and was active in the Youth Group. Drafted into the Army in 1967, got married and spent 6 months in Germany and 2 ½ years in Colorado Springs. After returning to Mooresville in 1970, I joined First Baptist and was baptized in 1973. I was ordained as a deacon in 1974, taught Training Union, Sunday School, Royal Ambassadors, served on Audio Visual Committee, Stewardship Committee, Bylaws Review Committee, and served as Preschool Custodian. Looking forward to serving as your deacon again, if elected.
