The Lord called our family to First Baptist in November of 2003. My husband Eddie serves here as Minister of Music. We have been married for 34 years and have been blessed with two wonderful children. Our daughter Ashton is 23 and is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently in the Harris School of Public Policy graduate program at The University of Chicago.  Our son Perry is 21 and is a senior at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

The Lord gave me a love for music at an early age. It was at the age of 10 I began playing the piano and have been playing ever since. After being born and raised in Newport News, Virginia I attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee.

It was there I received my Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy and met my husband and co laborer in Christ. God speaks to me through music and it is my desire for Him to speak through me and the music I share.

I was called to serve here as Organist/ Music Associate in July of 2009. What a blessing it is to help lead and plan worship, to work with our Senior Adult Choir, our WAM Kids Choirs, our WAM Student Choir and Sign Language Choir, and to accompany our Sanctuary Choir. My desire and prayer is simply stated in the words of a choral anthem, "Use me Lord, use me Holy Father; make my life a tool for you."

I have so many favorite scripture verses to choose just one would be difficult. I find that my "favorites" change as life circumstances change. At the time of this writing the verses that God lay on my heart come from Psalm 91: Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.   I will say of the Lord, β€œHe is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.

My favorite foods are ALL of them! But, the most tempting is anything chocolate. My favorite hobbies and movies are the ones I'm sharing at any given moment with my best friend and husband Eddie, and our two children, Ashton and Perry.
